THE promotion of football in the summer capital gets another boost as the 2011 edition of Pine Cup is now in the drawing boards.
Tentatively slated from April 14 to 17, eight age group divisions are being planned in the three day, 11 a side tournament being spearheaded by the Baguio United Football Club.
Some 35 teams are expected to see action in the tournament with teams composed of boys 21 and under, boys 17 and under, boys and girls 14 and under, boys 11 and under, mixed 9 and under, and mixed 7 and under.
Also in the competition will be teams from the men's and ladies' open division.
Last year, the tournament also saw a two-day football clinic in the hopes of popularizing the sports and train would be football players in this part of the country.
Teams from as far as Tarlac, Uminggan, Pangasinan State U, Laguna, Manaoag, and Agoo suited up last year for the men's open division and boys 21 under category.
This year, more teams are expected to join the tournament as it hopes to bring in more competitive level of football not only in the city but all over the country as well.
