Tiboron lifts Columbia for Premier League crown

ALDIN Tiboron's goal in the 88th minute lifted Columbia FC past Medvil FC, 2-1, to annex the third leg crown of the Davao Premier League held at the Tionko football grounds recently.

Columbia's Francisco Iligan Jr. started the ball rolling by hitting a goal in the 31st but Jomar Acedo countered in the 60th to force a one-all deadlock. Tiboron's heroics sealed Columbia's victory in the bootfest organized by the Davao Football Association (Davao FA).

Albert Ryan "Abing" Lim coached and managed the champion team while runner-up Medvil was mentored by multi-titled Ramonito "Lalas" Carreon and managed by Rafael "Pops" Vilela.

In battle for third, WT-FM hacked out a 6-4 win over Hooligans FC.

Ruelfred Napuran sparked WT-FM with back-to-back goals in the 26th and 39th as teammates Jayric Iligan (18th), Francis Alcala (44th), Joven Benitez (84th) and Renelle Pino (88th) chipped in one goal each.

Hooligans' scorers were Peter Garciano (23rd), Francis Lim (64th), Val Morata (75th) and Rodane Tamon (77th). (RPSA)
