DUSHANBE � Bosnian-born Kemal Alispahic will coach the Tajik men�s national football team, CA-News.org reported February 9, quoting Tajik Football Federation spokesman Faridun Soliyev.
Soliyev thanked Alimdzhon Rafikov for running the team until Alispahic�s hiring. Rafikov, acting coach since August, will continue coaching FC Istiklol.
Alispahic has coached since 1997 in numerous countries. He is leaving Syria�s FC Al-Ittihad to take the Tajik job.
Alispahic will make his Tajik coaching debut February 29, when Tajikistan clashes with North Korea in a 2014 World Cup qualifier match.
