ELEVEN Cebuano booters were shortlisted in the Visayas selection of the Philipppine national Under-19 mens football team.
These players will be joining the national selection in San Carlos City from Aug. 4 to 12.

The players who made it are Christian Kenn Agot, Junjay Anthony Arizabal, Valentino Calvo Joseph Lorenzo Mercado and Raphael Clifford De Guzman from Don Bosco Technological Center; Michael Anthony Ruete and Rogelio Castillon from Abellana National School; and Nicholas Villacin and Jose Rafael Lipardo from Paref Springdale.
Completing the list are Italy-based Carmelo Vicente Genco and Sacred Heart Ateneo de Cebus Joshua Miguel Kwan.
Majority of these players, who make up almost half of the Visayas selection, played in the Palarong Pambansa secondary football tournament last summer.
Most of them were Palaro pick-ups but there are some players from outside Cebu, who were recommended. Some coaches had hold tryouts to fill up the rest of 25 players, said ANS head coach Francis Ramirez.
Agot, Arizabal and Castillon Jr. are currently college freshmen at the the University of San Carlos, while De Guzman is suiting up for the University of San Jose Recoletos. Calvo is in Ateneo de Manila University.
PFF selected the top 25 players from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to take part in the closed training camp.
From there, a final pool of 50 players will be chosen to undergo a series of trainings and camps prior to the Asian Football Confederation U19 Championship qualifiers set next year.
Completing the Visayas list are seven players from Iloilo, two from Negros Occidental and five from Negros Oriental.
