Matty Vautour of the Hampshire Gazette has an interesting article about the state of A10's teams chances to make the playoffs at this time. Read it first . Registration required, but worth it.
A couple points I might add to Matty's article. Towson traditionally plays a weak OOC schedule and is, I believe, something like 11-0 against non-A10 opponents over the last few years. So their fast start against Morgan state (2-3), Elon (2-2) and Liberty (3-2) is not unexpected. The Tigers do have a nice win against Hofstra. Their game against Maine this week is critical for Maine's chances for the playoffs.
The odds guy Keeper has Towson as a 12.5 point favorite. He has UMass over William & Mary by 19+.
He has four A10 teams with a good chance for the playoffs: UMass, Richmond, JMU and UNH. In my opinion, Richmond and UNH both with I-A wins and 4-0 are in the catbird seat. JMU and UMass are probably fighting for the third A10 playoff slot. I doubt that the A10 would get four of the 16 playoff invites.
