Philippines skips past Croatia in Homeless World Cup

MANILA, Philippines -- The Philippines defeated Croatia in the knockout stage of the 9th Homeless World Cup in Paris, France on Wednesday.



The Filipinos continued their title bid with an 8-5 victory over the Croatians.



Team Philippines, which entered the knockout stage by beating Switzerland, built a 4-3 lead versus Croatia in the first half.



The Pinoys, mentored by football coach by Rudy del Rosario, scored 4 more goals against Croatia's 2 in the second half for the win.



The Philippines is clustered with Croatia, Portugal, Scotland, Poland and Brazil in Group C.
