Former Hofstra HC Joe Gardi has passed away. Gardi, who had a winning record against UMass, was an offensive guy. For most of his term at the Pride, he didn't even have a TE on the roster. Gardi liked to line 'em up and throw the ball down the field.

Ninety Three days until UMass plays for real. Wearing #93 for UMass this year is Bob McLaughlin a 6-2 265 pd RSSr DL from Brewster, MA. In 2009 McLaughlin played in 7 games, started 0. He had 1 UT 7 AT and 8 TT. With the graduation of the entire defensive line, he should be a contender for a starting role in 2010.
