THE Calinan and Mintal-B teams bagged titles in the just-concluded Araw ng Mintal Football Festival-Congressman Sid Ungab Cup at Mintal Elementary School.
Calinan nipped the University of the Philippines (UP) Tigers, 3-2, via penalty shootout in their 11-13 years old championship match. The UP Tigers got the runner-up honors instead while the Abba's Child Science School Foundation placed third.
Mintal-B, meanwhile, bested Abba's Child for the 10 years old and below title. The latter settled for second followed by Tacuna and the UP Tigers in shared third.
The elementary girls crown went to Biao Guianga A while Biao Guianga B wounded up second in the event organized by Barangay Mintal in cooperation with the Davao Football Association (DFA) and the UP Mindanao CWTS class.
Mintal sports committee chair, barangay councilor Benedict Adan, represented third district congressman Isidro T. Ungab during the opening rites also graced by Mintal Sangguniang Kabataan chair Norie Fe Manlod, DFA president Rafael Vilela and general secretary Erwin Protacio. (MLSA)
