JOVEN Benitez's goal in the 85th lifted WTFM to a 1-0 win over Medvil in the resumption of the Ebocci-Davao Premiere League at the Tionko football grounds on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, WT-FM grabbed the solo lead of the team standings with a total of nine points for its three wins, zero draw and one loss record.
Medvil (0-3-1) dropped to fourth place with three points.
In an earlier game, Columbia hacked out a 5-3 win over Kapisanang Magkaibigan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (KMMPC).
Francisco Iligan scored a hattrick for Columbia, finding the net in the 43rd, 68th and 82nd minutes. His teammates Absser Tadtokasan and Aldin Taborin added one goal each.
KMMPC scored on the goals of Jestoni Felipe (21st), Ian Jay Sonza (61st) and Amon Casimiro (76th).
The semifinal matches are set Sunday with WT-FM playing Medvil at 2 p.m. and Columbia (2-1-1) going up ahainst Hooligans (2-1-1).
At stake for the champion is the right to represent the city to the Southern Mindanao cluster of PFF-Smart Club Championships next month. (MLSA)
