PFF lauds football bill

JOSEF T. RAMOS

PHILIPPINE Football Federation (PFF) President Mariano Araneta thanked the House of Representatives particularly Rep. Rufus Rodriguez of Cagayan de Oro and brother Rep. Maximo Rodriguez of Abante Mindanao party-list for authoring House Bill 4298, ordering the construction of a 75,000-capacity world-class football stadium in the country.

Im really happy with that [bill]. It is good for Philippine football. Ever since, we have no football stadium that can hold 70,000 spectators and we can now host international football events if that plan materialized, said Araneta.

Araneta said the proposed facility must be built in the National Capital Region since it is considered a national stadium. Right now, they havent approached us yet regarding the venue but Im hoping it will be here in Metro Manila.
