Baguio Ladies Tmanx shine in MGDFC

THE veteran Baguio Ladies Tmanx took another victory ride last Sunday as it bagged top honors in the ladies side of the Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan Football Cup at the Melvin Jones Football grounds.


Popularly known as the Baguio Cinderellas, Tmanx bested their younger counterparts from the Benguet State University ladies� team to lead other winners at the end of the month long football tournament backed by real estate firm Goshenland Capitals.


The Baguio Ladies Solid, the other Cinderella squad in the tournament, joined 74 squads in the different age group competitions, including the men�s open and the seven teams in the ladies� open.


Laoag A earlier clinched the championship in the 16 under division, while the 14 under category was ruled by Baguio City National High School football team A while its Team B took the first runner up honors as Pinsao Hard 11 settled for the second runner�up honors.


Baguio City National High School�s under 12 squad also ruled the age group by besting Bonifacio A which settled for first runner-up honors while La Trinidad Central School football team salvaged second runner�up honors in the event organized by the Baguio United Football Cup.


Goshenland, meanwhile, secured the championship in the 10 under squad with Jose P. Laurel and Quezon A settling for runner up honors in the event which served as an arena for public school children and other teams to experience competitive football tournament to enhance their character and football skills.


Brazil, meanwhile, won the 8 under division with Bonifacio and Jose P. Laurel settling for the runner�up honors in one of the largest football competition in this part of the country with 493 players seeing action during month-long tournament.


The g-string competition also saw Bonifacio A, Pinsao Hard 11 and Barangay Pinsao emerging as champions in the elementary, secondary and men�s divisions, respectively.


Mark Ed Lusong of the Goshenland Men�s football team took the most valuable player plum in the men�s open division; Gatan Dalang was awarded the best striker; JC Kraker, the best goalkeeper; Christopher Rebojio and Still Kudan took the best midfielder and best defender honors, respectively.


Raymond Daquioag Jr. and Kit Piedad, meanwhile, took the MVP and best goalie plum in the 16 under division; Russel Carino, MVP, and Jomar Austria, goalie, in the 14 under; Mike Arbela, MVP, and Cleo Mangaoang, goalie, in the 12 under; Samson Cabfono, MVP, and Jon Shadrack Bangsoy, goalie, in the 10 under; Kara Alinsug, MVP, and Lorenzo Leonardo, goalie, in the 8 under division.
