Hooligans, DDS top Governor's Cup

THE Hooligans FC and D' Davao Survivors Football Club (DDS FC) of Davao City shared top honors at the close of the 1st Governor's Cup at Don Mariano Marcos Elementary School Football Field in Digos City over the weekend.

Hooligans ruled the men's open event over University of Southeastern Philippines (Usep) Davao and Davao del Sur-Digos City United that finished second and third, respectively.


Hooligans, composed of Jason Mortillero, Clemens Lademora, Allan Ray Fernandes, Roeder Ignacio, Jayric Iligan, Emerson Demegello, Patrick Asoque, Roelfred Napuran, Marlon Demapanag, Rocky Custodio, Roland Manabit and Roger Ubas, pocketed P10,000 cash plus a trophy for the feat while Usep Davao received P5,000 and Davao del Sur Digos City United got P3,000.

DDS, meanwhile, held a 3-1-0 win-draw-loss card to clinch the women's title while 3-0-1 Davao United settled for the runner-up honors and 2-1-1 Davao del Sur wounded up third.

DDS came home with a trophy and P5,000 while the next two placers P3,000 and P2,000.

DDS was bannered by Analou Ingles, Ching Delos Reyes, Kharlla Sol Cruz, Ness Celestial, Beth Villa-Abrille, Lorena Mongao, Kristel Dureza, Alyn Ravanes, Tets Concordo, Wowie Satorre, Reynalyn Ravanes, Joan Mortillero and Kitoy Canton.

Mintal United-A of Davao City also shared the limelight by bagging the 12-under crown over next two placers WFS Digos at second and Mintal United-B at third.

The Danny Boy Fernandez-coached Mintal United-A claimed P5,000 while P3,000 and P2,000 were awarded to the respective second and third placers in the 9-A-Side bootfest presented by Gov. Douglas Cagas in cooperation with the Widsom Football Club.

The 12-under cast consisted of Caesar Ian Adan, Noel Capuyan, Ace Joaquin, Ashley Jude Lucero, Joven Amihan, John mark Nalla, Raymund Casona, Robinson dela Cruz, Charles Balansag and Julius Ponpon with assistant coach John Conde.
