BAGUIO City Football Association could have cruised atop the standing but failed to finish off a National Capital Region football Association at the BSU football grounds Sunday afternoon.
The Baguio booters could have topped the northern Luzon standing but nonetheless settled for a scoreless draw in an almost bench clearing game against NCR in the ongoing PFF Suzuki Under 23 National Cup.
We wanted to score for a win but the breaks of the game were not just on our side, said BCFA coach Cesar Balacwid.
After a scoreless first half, the Baguio-Benguet mixed squad tried to put one against the visiting NCR side but failed to slip in one of their seven shot on goals in the second half compared to capital regions one shot on goal.
The team still lacks finishing and this is one of the things were going to asses before our game against Tarlac, added Balacwid.
Yung jellying ng team is was not yet that solid kasi during practice eh we cannot have a 100 percent attendance because some of them have also commitments thats why were trying to make do with what he have during our games, Balacwid continued.
And Balacwid said they hope to work on this on April 29 also at the BSU grounds where they hope to avenge their loss against home team Tarlac after yielding a sorry 3-2 loss.
The PFF Suzuki U23 National Cup is dubbed as the local adaptation of the AFF Suzuki Cup, the most celebrated football competition organized by the Asean Football Federation for football-competing national teams in the Southeast Asian region.
The PFF earlier said with the football hype in the country, the tournament aims to search for a stronger Philippine team with the cup serving young aspirants to be the best of what they can be.
In fact, the PFF and Suzuki recently signed a memorandum of agreement for the staging of the national tournament to be staged nationwide.
